Travelling to Exeter:

By coach: see National Express or Megabus

By train: Exeter has two railway stations – Exeter St David’s (main station) and Central. The average journey time from London Paddington is 2 hours 30 minutes. See National Rail Enquiries to plan your journey. Tickets purchased on the day are vastly more expensive than tickets booked in advance so you are advised to book your journey early.

By car: The M4/M5 links Exeter directly to London, the Midlands, South Wales and the North including Scotland. The average journey time from either London or the Midlands is 3 hours.

How to get to the conference venue:

Click here for a map of Exeter, which shows the location of the venue and the locations for all our evening entertainment. Please here for a map of the Exeter University campus. The Queen’s Building is on Queen’s Drive (number 11 on the map).

On foot from St. David’s station (main train station in Exeter):

  • Take the pedestrian signs for the University – i.e. walk away from the station’s main entrance towards the main road in front of you and up the hill through the alleyway by the pedestrian crossing
  • Walk up Howell Road towards New North Road
  • Turn left onto New North road
  • Turn right into The Prince Of Wales Road
  • Take the second left into Streatham Drive
  • Turn right into The Queen’s Drive
  • Follow this road up the hill until you reach Queen’s building on your right
  • Follow the signs outside the Queen’s building to find the conference registration desk

Please note that this route involves a rather steep incline. It takes around 20-30 minutes to walk. Alternatively, buses are available:

Bus

You can catch the D or H bus up to the campus and there is a bus stop outside the Queen’s Building (check with the bus driver if you are unsure). The H bus takes longer as it goes via St David’s station. Some H buses don’t go to the University so please read the sign on the front of the bus carefully or ask the bus driver.

Departure times on Saturday morning:

From the High Street (D or H bus): 7.47, 7.57, 8.17, 8.27, 8.42.
